    Work
So, if you're trying to track me down, I'm at the U of M from 8am to 9pm most week days, watching people get stabbed in the arm.

I took the shot yesterday. So far evil Deadite Brent has yet to sprout from my shoulder.

Finally having a day off is going to feel like a party.... oh, wait... my birthday is that day!

    My birthday plan
I'm thinking I'm gonna have some sushi, then a couple beers at Tavern (seeing as its a sunday) and then coming back here for a house party until late. You're all welcome. Come for what you can, I understand that most "normal" people will wind up working monday morning.

So, thats on Sunday the 1st.

Anybody got anything interesting happening on the 31st?

    Birthdays Come in Packs
Just a reminder that we're coming up on a grouping of important days.

One which is usually celebrated by the re-emergance from a bubble wrapped cocoon of one friend, after surviving his birthday.

Another which is likely to be celebrated with some small metal men dying for king and country.

Aaaaaaand one that is usually accompanied by a wicked hangover the next day.

    Daily Show vs Death Panels
So, I watched the Daily Show eppisode where he talked with Betsy McCaughey, the woman who has lead the charge against the Obama health care bill. Specifically the part thats come to be referred to as "death panels".

I don't really want to get into socialised medicine vs. private, or anything, but I find it great when Stewart just tears apart someone. In this case, this woman clearly didn't think he'd prepare for the interview at all. She was just completely unready for someone who had read the bill.

As it turns out, the bill mostly encourages that doctors be paid for talking with patients about what their wishes would be if they couldn't voice them. Sort of "so, if your cancer puts you in a coma, do you want us to try risky experimental stuff, do you want us to take you off and let you die, or do you want us to hold on as long as possible in case something new comes up?" The way its phrased it actually even attempts to encourage the conversation to lean towards keeping you alive.

I think the real problem that people who have been reading it and then stirring up trouble are having is that they don't want ANYONE to sign a DNR, and they certainly want to be able to over ride that if it turns out their grandma signed one.

The thing I really like is that the bill actually penalises doctors who don't follow the orders that are listed. Although, as I understand it, they are already open to being sued if they don't anyways.

    Part 1

    Part 2

Unaired Part 3 ..... not available in Canada.... see posts by Cory for why that is dumd as hell.

    My weekend
Tonight, starting at 8pm I'm at the stadium, watching the stage.... evidently it might walk off. I'm there until 8am.

Then I go back at 4pm, no 3:30pm, no 2:30pm, no 12:30pm..... I really love the way things get rescheduled at work...

Anyways, all day tomorrow I'll be at AC/DC.

    Sunday we'll see.

    Everyone wants me!
So, on the 15th apparently everyone wants a piece of me. Work wants me to be at Folklarama and the Bomber game at the same time.

    Trevor is having a BBQ.

And Mike and Leanne are having a house warming.

I think i'll be at work at Folklarama. bummer.

    Brent's new phone
So, if you've been trying to text me lately, and I didn't get back to you, its likely because it got dropped out the bottom of my list by the waves of spam that I get.

Solution #1 Switch to Rogers, 3 year contract about $65 a month, transferrable anywhere in Canada. 3G network. BlackBerry Bold for $299.99. Possibility of getting $50 off for finagling, and an attempt at getting more, but doubtful. Possibility of getting activation fee waved?

Solution #2 Switch phone number, blackmail MTS for $135 off BlackBerry Storm (Iphone for people who don't want mac stuff) ($250-135=115 smart phone) waved activation fee ($35) and 2 or 3 year contract. Problem, doesn't transfer well. If i leave MTS before 24 months though, i'm stuck with $30 a month escape clause.

MTS has decent plans right now. Oh, and I'll wind up paying $30 if i leave MTS before the end of August, but i'll likely get that waved if i stay.

    Thoughts?

    Up
You should *sniff* probably *sniff* go see this movie.

And if a tear doesn't come to your eye at least once, just go ahead and call the coroner to wheel your corpse out of there, because you're dead on the inside.

    No more carnies
You can let your women folk off the chain... well, at least for their usual sunday afternoon 20 minutes of off the chain time. Then they should go back to the kitchen, thats just science....

The carnies are packing up and leaving.

So, i'm free... which is to say, i'm around and until its time to roll out to D-Town to set up things with Mike and his crew, i'm around.

I'm going to sleep for a few hours now, likely getting up in the early afternoon. Call if you want to do stuff. Hopefully i can bounce back from the drain this week puts on me. At least my feet aren't bleeding this year, hurray for what OBO considers office work.

    7 of 11
Well, most of 7, still a few hours left until the relief crew comes on.

I took a 3 hour nap between yesterday.... uhm... tuesday... and wednesday. And i'm not sure, but i don't think i'm getting a full night today either. We'll see.

Bombers won, i think. ... pretty sure i ate at subway... wrote a test for the police... gave a girl a stuffed dog....

oooo! hot chocolate and a bagel!

    Day 0 completed
    Fucking Carnies!

For legal reasons, I'm not to talk to you about what happened last night.

If a gentleman of uncertain ethnicity and a vaguely british sounding accent approaches you in a bar in the next week and a half..... stab them in the groin and leave them for dead.

The fair hasn't even started and I'm already at war with these scum bags.

On a side note. There is a constable with the WPS that looks kind of like a butch Tina Fey, and she's mean as shit. I approve.

    It Begins Again
Well, the Ex is here again. I get to go in for the night before and work a 12, starting at 8pm. If you need passes, let me know, there's a secret handshake of sorts. Also, it'd be nice to say hi to your old friend Brent, even if he is running around trying to find an excuse to evacuate the park.

    Thought Exorcise for you Coders
If you were the data file that records user input co-ordinates in the Cartographer UI for WoW... where would you hide. :P
